Arthritis antibody trial

May 25, 2007

Australian scientists are developing a treatment for Arthritis that could offer cheaper, faster and more effective relief.

Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital has begun human trials of the new antibody therapy.

At this stage, the antibody is simply known as PN0621, and if all goes according to plan in the trial process, patients will be able to use it in about five years.

According to those behind the treatment, the antibody is different from existing Arthritis-relief products as it's considerably smaller, making it more practical in terms of reaching affected joints.
